Founded in 2017, the SJTU LEC International Summer School has offered over 130 diverse courses across seven academic disciplines, including Management, Economics, and Humanities and Social Sciences. With a well-established and mature academic framework, the program caters to the needs of students worldwide with varied academic backgrounds for short-term overseas study and academic credit advancement. Two intakes, namely the Summer Session and Winter Session, are launched annually to flexibly fit students' academic plans and schedules.

Teaching Modes & Study Regulations

The majority of courses adopt a three-week study cycle, with 160 minutes of daily instruction from Monday to Friday. A small number of courses follow a four-week schedule, featuring 120 minutes of daily weekday teaching. All courses are delivered in full English. Lectures, assignments, assessments and all other teaching procedures are conducted entirely in English. Students will be awarded 4 academic credits upon successful completion of each course.

The program only provides two teaching formats: full-time in-person offline courses and fully pre-recorded online courses. No blended or hybrid learning options are available. Students may independently select 1 to 3 courses according to their academic arrangements and personal schedules. Those who pass all course assessments will receive an official academic transcript issued by the School of Lifelong Education, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

2026 Program Arrangements

The December Session of 2026 will officially commence on December 21, 2026. The three-week courses will run from December 21, 2026 to January 8, 2027, while 4-week courses will be extended by one week to January 15, 2027. A total of 95 undergraduate and graduate-level courses are tentatively offered.
