International summer school originated in the United States and are an important form of summer education offered by colleges and universities. Their core lies in efficiently activating idle teaching resources during summer vacations, which not only helps students enrich their summer lives but also allows them to enjoy an international teaching experience "at their doorstep" and immerse themselves in a diverse academic atmosphere and research vitality.

The International Summer School by Lifelong Education College, Shanghai Jiao Tong University has attracted renowned professors and international students from around the world to the campus and participate in classes. It not only promotes the collision and integration of cross-cultural thinking but also injects diverse vitality into the university and further enhances the level of its internationalized education.

The SJTU LEC International Summer School is hosted by Lifelong Education College (LEC) -a unit directly under Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Since 2017, SJTU LEC has continuously operated this program, aiming to build a high-quality bridge for global exchange and cooperation among students at home and abroad, renowned professors, and partner institutions.

The program is offered every winter and summer vacation, with classes held at the Changning Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It adopts both offline and online teaching formats. Its curriculum system covers a wide range of academic fields, including Economics, Business, Social Sciences, Humanities, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences, providing students with diverse and high-quality learning options. Students can take 1 to 3 courses in each session.

In addition, the summer school program also carefully designs a variety of distinctive activities. It organizes visits to well-known enterprises across multiple industries to empower students' career development; conducts in-depth Shanghai cultural experience activities to help students integrate into local life quickly; and arranges interactive ice-breaking and entertainment activities, which not only enrich students' spare time but also promote cross-cultural communication among them.

Up to now, the SJTU LEC International Summer School has been successfully held for multiple sessions. It has provided tens of thousands of domestic and international students with valuable learning opportunities aligned with international education standards, helping global students deeply integrate into the academic community of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
